Ondřej Šilt became the master of the republic for the year 2008. The Championship took place in Bečov nad Teplou. He won 8 games out of 9. According to the expectations his biggest rival was Jan Hora who also had 8 points. The winner was decided in their game which was finally better for Ondřej Šilt.

The third was after a good performance Vladimír Daněk who defeated everybody except the two mentioned. The fourth was Jan Šimara with five points.

After two years in Jeseníky and other two years in "greek colony" in Vysočina, this year's Czech go training camp will take place in Šumava. The place of it will be a cottage Cihelny in a colony Zadov-Churáňov.
