Qualification for the championship is decided

The most difficult qualification for the championship in the last years is in the end. This year it was almost sure that who does not qualify will be off his luck. The reason is simple: the most of participants will have chance to take part in the World mind sports games which will take place in Beijing.

Who will be the challengers of the current Czech number one Jan Hora (in the picture)? Definitely it will be: twelvefold master of the republic Vladimír Daněk, sevenfold Radek Nechanický and twofold Ondřej Šilt. Among the favorites we have to place also jumped-up 5 dan in great form Jan Šimara.

If nobody of this five cancels, it will be probably the most dramatic, close and difficult championship at least from 1991. Each of them has a real chance to win.

All the more the meaning of experienced players will grow, who have qualified for the championship - Zbyněk Dach, Ivan Kostka and Martin Kužela. They can strike someone from the "big five", what can significantly influence the final sequence. It will also be very interesting to watch, if anybody of them will get to the best five.

Beside the strong players there will be also some players to get new experience - Ondřej Kruml and Bronislav Snídal. They probably won't have the best results but it will definitely give them very valuable experience.

And who is the alternate? The first to wait for the message from the organizers is Jakub Mírka. He is not without chance to play at the championship. Martin Kužela showed, that he is considering his presence. Unfortunately Jan Prokop cannot hope. He lumped on the tournament in Nymburk where he was the fourth.

In the end, it is not possible not to mention the third alternate: Petr Cipra. He will not play at the championsip almost definitely.
